Angela Gheorghiu’s China Tour Postponed

Angela Gheorghiu has announced that her upcoming Chinese tour has been postponed.
The soprano stated, via social media, that due to the critical nature of the Coronavirus outbreak and its threatening development, together with the Chinese promoters and her management she was required to cancel 5 of her concerts in China.
The affected performances were scheduled for March 20 (concert in Xiamen), March 24 (recital in Shenzen), March 27 (recital in Nanjing), March 31 (recital in Shanghai), and April 5 (concert in Xi’An).
New dates will be announced the situation in China is resolved.
Next up, Gheorghiu will perform the title role in Puccini, Giacosa and Illica’s “Tosca” at the Semperoper Dresden on Feb. 23 and 28. She will be joined onstage by Teodor Ilincai in the role of Mario Cavaradossi and Alexey Markov as Baron Scarpia.
