Angel Blue is set to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Redlands.

The soprano took to social media to announce the news stating, “Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well in body and strong in spirit!! This Friday, April 25, I will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Redlands!! Between rehearsal for ‘Aida’ and rehearsal for the graduation ceremony, I’m feeling extremely blessed and more thankful than I can express. I’ll be delivering the commencement speech via zoom and will share the link soon. Let’s celebrate the class of 2025 together!!”

Blue recently performed the title role of “Aida” at the Metropolitan Opera in a new production by Michael Mayer. She will return to the role for four more performances with the New York company on April 27, May 1, May 5, and May 9. She is set to perform with the Baltimore Symphony and Metropolitan Opera orchestra later in the summer.
