Angel Blue, Anthony Roth Costanzo & Missy Mazzoli to Feature on Zachary James’ ‘What Happened Was…’

Broadway and opera star Zachary James is set to host a new, online talk show. Titled “What Happened Was…” the program will feature leading figures in the world of Broadway, opera, dance, film, television, and more.

Inspired by shows such as “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” and “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse,” the series comes as part of The Dallas Opera Network, and will air Fridays at 3 p.m. James will discuss breakthrough moments and share experiences that draw on his decades-spanning career on the stage. His award-winning 2020 film/visual album debut “Call Out,” has played at 28 film festivals worldwide.

Guests will include artists such as Allison Blackwell, Angel Blue, Carolee Carmello, Jim Caruso, Kevin Chamberlain, Eddie Cooper, Maria DiDomenico, Xanthe Elbrick, Jackie Hoffman, Kristin Hevner, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Karen Kamensek, Sara Mearns, Bonnie Montgomery, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Royce Vavrek, and Missy Mazzoli, among others.

“What Happened Was…” will be available to stream on TDO’s website, social media pages, and on-demand after airing.
