Angel Blue, Ailyn Pérez, Jonathan Tetelman, Pretty Yende, Isabel Leonard & Tamara Wilson Lead Houston Grand Opera’s 2026-27 Season

The Houston Grand Opera has announced its 2026-27 season.

Angel Blue headlines Floyd’s “Susannah” alongside Rod Gilfry, Billie Bruley, Aaron Blake, Deborah Nansteel, and Malcolm Mackenzie. James Gaffigan conducts Patricia Racette’s production.

Performance Dates: Oct. 23-Nov. 8, 20-26


Matthew Polenzani headlines Gounod’s “Faust” with Pretty Yende, Ildebrando d’Arcangelo, Sean Michael Plumb, and Sun-Ly Pierce. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 30-Nov. 15, 2026


Ailyn Pérez, Jonathan Tetelman, Adam Smith, Raehann Bryce-Davis, Lucas Meachem, and Soloman Howard lead Verdi’s “Aida.” Michele Gamba conducts the production Kaneza Schaal.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22-Feb. 7, 2027


Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” will star Paul Appleby, Janai Brugger, Joshua Hopkins, Aigul Khismatullina, Grigory Shkarupaand Brandon Cedel. David Chan conducts.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29-Feb. 14, 2027


Tamara Wilson, Samantha Hankey, Soraya Mafi, Matthew Rose, Bo Skovhus, and Gaelano Salas lead Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.” Henrik Nansi conducts the production by Bruno Ravella.

Performance Dates: April 23-May 7, 2027


Showboat” will star Lauren Snouffer, Edward Nelson, Isabel Leonard, Morris Robinson, and La’Shelle Q.  Patrick Summers and Richard Bado conduct Francesca Zambello’s production.

Performance Dates: April 30-May 16, 2027
