Conductor Andris Nelsons and soprano Kristine Opolais have announced that they will be ending their marriage.

In a joint statement, the two artists explained that the dissolution of their marital relationship is being made on amicable terms and that the two will continue to work together professionally.

“Sharing, with regret, that Andris Nelsons and Kristine Opolais have divorced following 7 years of marriage. Both Mr. Nelsons and Ms. Opolais are united in putting their daughter at the center of their private lives. With complete respect and admiration for one another, Mr. Nelsons and Ms. Opolais look forward to continuing their artistic relationship together. The family asks for privacy at this time and no further comments will be given,” the two published on their respective websites.

Opolais and Nelsons are set to work together on Wagner’s “Lohengrin” in London in June and July. The performances will represent Opolais’ first-ever representation of the role of Elsa. They will also perform “La Bohème” together in July with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and have a number of concerts in Europe scheduled throughout the fall of 2018. Their schedule has them working together well into 2019.
