Tenor Andrew Owens has been named the Vocal Artist Manager for IMG Artists.
Owens joined IMG’s roster in 2014. He has preformed with opera companies worldwide such as Seattle Opera, Irish National Opera, and Opernhaus Zürich. His roles include Pepe, The Count of Almaviva, Alfredo Germont, and Tamino, and more.
At IMG Owens has collaborated with Sam Snook, SVP & Head of Vocal, Europe, among others. Snook said in a press release, “Having known Andrew for almost 20 years, I have always admired his singing of course, but also, his curiosity for the industry at large, always wanting to know how the sausage gets made, and always looking outside of his personal sphere as an artist. I’m so happy to have him as part of our team, and look forward to many more years of collaboration, now also as a manager.”
Owens added, “I’m excited to take these next steps with IMG Artists, the company that has overseen my artistic growth these last twelve years. I’m incredibly grateful to both Matthew and Sam for recognizing this skill set and encouraging me to further explore this area of our business, one that has always interested me. There’s been a common thread in my career as a singer, a vocal instructor, and an advisor: advocating for artists’ interests. This will continue to guide my work as I add artist management to these roles.”
