
Andrés Salado Named New Music Director of Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés
By Francisco SalazarAndrés Salado has been named the new Music Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés.
The conductor will take over the position on Sept. 1, 2025, succeeding Xavier Puig, who has been the Music Director since 2018.
With this appointment, the OSV begins a new era under Salado’s direction. He will combine this responsibility with conducting the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica. His main objective will be the continuous improvement of the orchestra’s artistic quality. He will also work to contribute to the maintenance and development of innovation as a founding value and hallmark of the OSV.
Salado recently stepped down as conductor of the Orquesta de Extremadura and was appointed to the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica. He has conducted such orchestras as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, and Real Filharmonía de Galicia.
