Andrea Bocelli’s Record-Breaking Easter Concert To Air on PBS

Great Performances is set to present the U.S. broadcast premiere of Easter Sunday’s concert, “Andrea Bocelli: Music for Hope, A Great Performances Special.”
The concert will premiere on in the New York metro area on Thursday, April 16 at 8:30 p.m. on THIRTEEN.
The Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli gave a solo performance at the historic Duomo, the cathedral of Milan, Italy, by invitation of the city and of the cathedral. It was also thanks to the hospitality of the Archpriest and the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo.
The concert, which also featured the cathedral organist Emanuele Vianelli, showcased such music as “Panis Angelicus” by César Franck, “Ave Maria” by Charles-François Gounod, “Sancta Maria” by Pietro Mascagni, “Domine Deus” by Gioachino Antonio Rossini, and  “Amazing Grace” by John Newton.
Per a press release, the concert was a record-breaker that reached over 2.8 million peak concurrent viewers; it is now one of the biggest musical live stream performances of all-time and the largest simultaneous audience for a classical live stream in YouTube history. Moreover, the video managed more than 28 million views from across the world in its first 24 hours.
