Andrea Bocelli’s Met Opera Concerts To Feature Other Major Superstars

By David Salazar

On Sunday, Andrea Bocelli will appear at the Metropolitan Opera and he will be flanked by a number of superstars currently singing on the Met stage.

Among the artists to join the famed singer are Aida Garifullina, Isabel Leonard, Nadine Sierra, and Luca Pisaroni.

Garifullina recently made her Met Opera debut in the role of Zerlina in “Don Giovanni.” She has previously appeared with Bocelli in other concerts around the world and is even featured on his new album.

Leonard is coming off a run of performances of “Pelléas et Mélisande” at the Met and is set for her third opera this season with the company when she stars in “Dialogues des Carmélites.”

Pisaroni is currently starring in “Don Giovanni” at the Met while Sierra is set to appear as Gilda in “Rigoletto,” starting on Tuesday; Sierra has also performed with Bocelli on tour and also took the stage with him during the 2015 Richard Tucker Gala.

The same cast of stars will appear in the Feb. 17, 2019 performance at the Met.
