Andre Heyboer & Florian Laconi Highlight Opera Saint-Etienne’s 2019-20 Season

Opera Saint-Etienne has announced its 2019-20 season featuring six productions.

The season opens with Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” starring Michal Patyka in the title role. Conductor Giuseppe Grazioli leadd the cast that also includes Guilhem Worms,
Clemence Barrabe, Marie-Adeline Henry, Camille Tresmontant, Ziyan Atfeh, Nroma Nahoun, and Matteo Loi.

Performance Dates: Nov. 8-12, 2019

Jacques Lacombe conducts Massenet’s “Don Quichotte” with Vincent Le Texier, Marc Barrad, and Lucie Roche. Louis Desire directs the production.

Performance Dates: Jan. 31-Feb. 4, 2020

Tenor Florian Laconi and baritone Andre Heyboer headline the double bill of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci.” The production also stars Emanuela Pascu as Santuzza and Jennifer Michel stars as Nedda with Fabrizio Maria Carminati conducting.

Performance Dates: March 11-15, 2020

Giuseppe Grazioli conducts a concert version of Berlioz’s “La Damnation of Faust” with Christophe Berry as Faust, Marion Lebegue as Marguerite, and Pierre-Yves Pruvot as Méphistophélès.

Performance Dates: May 15-17, 2020

Vannina Santoni stars in Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Thomas Bettinger and Andre Heyboer. Victorien Vanoosten conducts the Jean-Louis Grinda production.

Performance Dates: June 17-21, 2020

The season concludes with Brahms “Deutsche Requiem” with Elodie Hache and Marc Scoffoni.

Performance Dates: June 27, 2020
