Anastasia Boldyreva to Celebrate Fanny Mendelssohn
By Francisco SalazarOn Nov. 24, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana in Sala Casella will celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with a concert entitled “Fanny, genio invisibile.”
The concert will be dedicated to Fanny Mendelssohn with musicologist Eleonora Negri reading letters and diary entries from the composer. Mezzo-soprano Anastasia Boldyreva will perform Lieder and songs by Fanny Mendelssohn including Die Mainacht op. posth. 9 n. 6, Italien op. 8 n. 2, Nachtwanderer op. 7 n. 1, Fruhling op. 7 n. 3, Schwanenlied op. 1 n. 1, and Suleika.
Federica Bortoluzzi will accompany on the piano.
Boldyreva has performed at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Opera di Roma, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
