Amazon Prime has released a new documentary “A Global Star in Private” about Jonas Kaufmann.

The film, which was shot in his home during quarantine, showcases the tenor in his day to day activities and is an intimate portrait into his personal and professional life. The documentary showcases interviews by Kaufmann, Thomas Voigt, pianist Helmut Deutsch, and his wife Christiane Lutz.

The documentary is available in Germany and Austria and will be available internationally in two weeks.

Kaufmann recently released an album “Selige Stunde,” which he recorded during quarantine and is set to open a revival production of Verdi’s “Don Carlos” at the Wiener Staatsoper. This season the tenor will also travel to Paris, Munich, and Frankfurt, among other cities.
