Amartuvshin Enkhbat to Receive Premio Bastianini

The Associazione Ettore Bastianini has announced Amartuvshin Enkhbat as the 2024 Premio Bastianini.

The Mongolian baritone will be given the award at a ceremony on May 3, 2024 at the Piazza Scalette Rubiani 1 in Verona. The award is given every two years and has already seen such recipients as Simone Piazzola, Nicola Alaimo, Dmitry Hvorostovsky posthumously, and Luca Salsi.

Enkhbat began his career at the Mongolian Opera and has gone on to perform at every major opera company in the world including Teatro alla Scala, Arena di Verona, Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio di Parma, Royal Opera House, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and Deutsche Oper Berlin, among others.

This season, he is set to perform in productions of “Cavalleria Rusticana” at the Teatro alla Scala, “Tosca” and “Nabucco” at the Wiener Staatsoper, and “Nabucco” at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
