Baritone Amartuvshin Enkhbat made history at the Bilbao Opera performing a “hat-trick” on Feb. 23, 2024 during a performance of “Rigoletto.”

According to the Bilbao Opera, the baritone and soprano Sabina Puértolas performed the first “triplete” in the company’s history performing a double encore of “Si, vendetta tremenda vendetta.”

The company said that the audience burst into a delirium of applause following the dramatic conclusion to Act two.

The double encore happened after Enkhbat and Puértolas had encored the duet during the Feb. 17 and 20, 2024 performances.

The final performance of “Rigoletto” is set to be held on Feb. 26. The cast also includes Ismael Jordi, Emanuele Cordaro, Carmen Topciu, and Fernando Latorre.
