Amanda Forsythe Headlines Orchestra of St. Luke’s Bach Festival

The Orchestra of St. Luke’s has announced its second Bach Festival, which is set to take place throughout June 2020 and will feature performances at a wide range of locations in New York City.

For the purposes of this article, the focus will be on vocal performances of which there is only one. The performance in question is entitled “Bach in Love” and it will feature soprano Amanda Forsythe performing “Non sa che sia dolore, BWV 209 as well as the “Weichet nur, betrubte Schatten, BWV 202 “Wedding Cantata.”

The concert will also feature two concertos for Harpsichord as performed by Jean Rondeau. Bernard Labadie will conduct the performance which is set to take place at Zankel Hall.

Performance Date: June 18, 2020

Other performances in the festival will include the Bach solo suites as performed by Pieter Wispelwey, several sonatas by C.P.E. and W.F. Bach as performed by pianist Pedja Muzijevic, The Music Offering, and even World Premiere for Chamber Orchestra.

The festival runs between June 9-30, 2020.
