Alondra de la Parra Named Music Director of OCRAM

Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra has been named the new Music Director of the Fundación Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM). Her initial contract will be for four years.

De la Parra has conducted such orchestras as the Orchestre de Paris, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, WDR Symphony Orchestra, Le Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO), BBC Philharmonic, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester de Berlín, and the Orchestra-Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

In 2022, she was named Principal Guest Conductor of the Milan Symphony and she is the Music Director of the Queensland Symphony.

This season, de la Parra is set to conduct the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Münchner Symphoniker, Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester, and Oviedo Filarmonía.
