Allen Perriello Appointed Director of Artistic Administration at Des Moines Metro Opera

Des Moines Metro Opera (DMMO) has announced that Allen Perriello has been named to the position of Director of Artistic Administration for the company beginning Feb. 16, 2022.

Most recently, Perriello was the Head of Music at Minnesota Opera. Simultaneously, he was the Director of the Young Artists Program at The Glimmerglass Festival, overseeing the auditioning, hiring, casting, and mentoring of young artists. Previously, Perriello held the position of the Head of Music and Director of the Marion Roose Pullin Arizona Opera Studio at Arizona Opera for five seasons. He has also been a member of the music staff at Pittsburgh Opera, Seattle Opera, and Boston Lyric Opera.

A graduate of the Merola Opera Program and Adler Fellowship at San Francisco Opera, Perriello is also a pianist, vocal coach, administrator, and educator who has appeared in recital with a wide variety of singers including Joélle Harvey, Daveda Karanas, Daniela Mack, Efraín Solís, David Portillo, Alek Shrader, Heidi Stober, and Laura Strickling, among others.
