Alice Teyssier to Present New Cantata at Miller Theatre

By Francisco Salazar

The Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts will feature a performance headlined by Alice Teyssier as part of a “Pop-Up Concerts” series.

The showcase, set for April 28, 2026, presents a new cantata-style work inspired by the life and legend of La Maupin, the late-17th-century queer opera singer and swordswoman renowned for her rapturous voice and fabled adventures.

Teyssier will be joined by a small ensemble that includes Michael Weyandt, Peter Evans, and Benjamin Katz.
