
Alice Teyssier to Perform at Brooklyn Public Library
By Afton MarkayThe Five Boroughs Music Festival (5BMF) has announced its collaboration with soprano Alice Teyssier.
The Philadelphia early music trio, Filament will make its 5BMF debut with Alice Teyssier in the program, “Bound Up in Love.” Filament’s soloists are violinist Evan Few, Elena Kauffman on the viola da gamba, and keyboardist John Walthausen.
The program places works by Isabella Leonarda, Barbara Strozzi, and Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre in dialogue with those of Henry Purcell and Tarquinio Merula, with the aim of exploring and recontextualizing ancient stories.
The Brooklyn Public Library will host the recital on Feb. 22.
