Alexandra Lang to Lead ‘LITER ABEND’ in NYC
By David SalazarSoprano Alexandra Lang is set to launch LITER ABEND on Sept. 30, 2021 at the Blue Gallery in New York City.
The concert will feature a celebration of German song and Lang will perform alongside Music Director and pianist Eric Sedgwick and tenor Timothy Stoddard as Guest Artist.
Audiences will get a chance to hear music by Hugo Wolf and Richard Strauss as well as Gustav Mahler’s “Rückert Lieder” and Robert Schumann’s “Dichterliebe.”
Lang has performed for a number of major companies including the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Utopia Opera, Opera of the Ozarks, NEMPAC Opera Project, New York Opera Forum, New Camerata Opera, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Peach State Opera, Nevada Opera, and the New York Conductors Symphony, among others.
Stoddard has appeared with Experiments in Opera, the Lucerne Festival Academy, the Rhymes with Opera, and Opera Idaho, among others.
The event will be free to the public and will also be streamed live via Valhalla Media.
LITER ABEND is a recipient of a City Artists Grant and there are plans for more performances with several new Guest Artists.
