Alexander Neef Releases Statement Regarding Opera de Paris Performances
By Francisco SalazarAlexander Neef, Managing Director of the Opera de Paris, has released a statement following France’s latest lockdown.
In a press release Neef said, “Following the Government’s decision to close establishments receiving the public as of midnight on Oct. 30, and for a period of a month, the Paris Opera is unfortunately compelled, once again, to alter its programs and activities. Over the period concerned by these measures, from Oct. 30 to Dec. 1, all performances scheduled in our theatres are canceled.”
The General Director continued by noting that rehearsals for December performances will resume as soon as authorized and the company will offer an audiovisual screening of Richard Wagner’s Ring cycle by the end of November.
The company is also looking at presenting the cycle at the Radio France Auditorium, at the beginning of December.
