Alexander McKissick, Natalie Image Headline Opera San José’s Upcoming ‘The Magic Flute’

Opera San José will present Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” starting on April 18, 2020.

The production, which runs through May 3, 2020 at the California Theatre for a total of six performances, will be conducted by Donato Cabrera and directed by Brad Dalton.

Tenor Alexander McKissick will headline the cast as the Prince Tamino. He will be joined by Natalie Image as Pamina and Brittany Renee Robinson as the Queen of the Night. Eugene Brancoveanu will be Papageno with Elena Galván making her role debut as Papagena. Other cast members for the production will include Kerriann Otaño, Katherine gunnick, Stephanie Sanchez, Mason Gates, Philip Skinner, Andrew Metzger, Joshua Hughes, Taylor Thompson, and Glenn Louis Healy.

In addition to the performances of the opera, the company will offer up several lead-up events include Introduction to Opera, which is a free 45-minute talk about the work to ticket holders prior to each performance. There will also be a preview of “The Magic Flute” on April 7, 2020 with members of the cast.
