Elliott is graduate of the prestigious Merola program at the San Francisco Opera and is the recipient of the 2013 John Moriarty Award for his outstanding contribution to Central City Opera. He attended Florida State University where he studied with David Okerlund.

Kwiecien is expected to return for the rest of the performances of the opera, which run through Dec. 8 and also stars Pretty Yende and Javier Camarena.
