Aleksandra Kurzak & Roberto Alagna Headline New ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ & ‘Pagliacci At Arena Di Verona
By Francisco SalazarThe Arena di Verona has announced a one-night only cast for its upcoming production of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “Pagliacci.”
The theater announced that Aleksandra Kurzak and Roberto Alagna will sing both “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” in a performance on August 8, 2020. The performance will mark Roberto Alagna’s debut at the Arena di Verona and it will mark Kurzak’s role debut as Santuzza.
Both singers will be joined by Amartuvshin Enkhbat who will sing both operas in the roles of Alfio and Tonio.
Kurzak and Alagna are the latest stars to join the 2020 festival. The Arena di Verona previously announced that Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov would appear in a one night concert, while Jonas Kaufmann would be making his Arena debut in a gala performance. Additionally, Plácido Domingo will also hold a concert during the summer.
