Alejandro Roy is set to make his Metropolitan Opera debut in Puccini’s “Turandot.”

The company announced that the Oct. 31, 2019 performance originally scheduled to be performed by Roberto Aronica will be performed by the Spanish tenor.

Roy recently made a notable appearance this past summer at the Festival Puccini de Torre del Lago in “La Fanciulla del West” and was recently seen in Malaga in a production of “Aida.” Roy has also sang at the Bilbao Opera, Kopparberg (Opera pa Skaret), Oviedo Opera, and Szczecin Festival. He covered the roles of Cavaradossi in “Tosca” and Dick Johnson in “La Fanciulla del West” during the beginning of the 2018-19 Met Opera season.

Roy joins a cast that includes Christine Goerke, Eleonora Buratto, and James Morris. Marco Armiliato conducts the production.
