Albina Shagimuratova Cancels Moscow Recital

By Francisco Salazar

Albina Shagimuratova has canceled her upcoming recital at Zaradaye Hall in Moscow.

The soprano, who was set to perform alongside Elizaveta Dmitrieva on April 23, has withdrawn as she is pregnant.

Last month Shagimuratova canceled her concert with the Boston Symphony Orchestra “on the advice of her physician following news of her pregnancy.”

Shagimuratova is still scheduled to perform in the Netherlands for Rossini’s Stabat Mater alongside Michele Mariotti. During the 2022-23 season, she is set to perform at the Metropolitan Opera in a production of Mozart’s “Idomeneo” as Elettra.

The soprano has performed around the world in such houses as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Mariinsky Theatre, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House, Bayerische Staatsoper, and the San Francisco Opera.
