AJ Glueckert, Irene Roberts & Thomas Lehman Lead Deutsche Oper Berlin’s ‘Antikrist’

The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced the upcoming premiere Rued Langgaard’s “Antikrist.”

The opera is set to open on Jan. 30, and will last until Feb. 11, 2022, for a total of four performances.

The opera will star Thomas Lehman as the Satan, Jonas Grundner-Culemann as Voice of God, Valeriia Savinskaia in the role of Echo of Spirit of Mystery, Irene Roberts as Spirit of Mystery, Clemens Bieber in the role of The Mouth Speaking Great Things, Gina Perregrino as Despondency, Flurina Stucki in the role of The Great Whore, AJ Glueckert in the role of The Scarlet-Coloured Beast, Andrew Dickinson as Lie, and Jordan Shanahan as Hate.

Stephan Zilias conducts a production by Ersan Mondtag, who is also responsible for the set design. Costume design is by Ersan Mondtag and Annika Lu Hermann. Jeremy Bines is the Chorus Director.

The opera house had previously scheduled the premiere for March 2020, but those performances were ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
