Ainhoa Arteta, Vittoria Yeo & Karine Babajanyan Highlight Festival Puccini’s 2020 Season

The Festival Puccini has announced the casting for the 66th annual season.

Stefania Sandrelli directs a new production of Puccini’s “Tosca.” The production will inaugurate the festival  and star Ainhoa Arteta and Hiromi Omura in the title role. Marcelo Alvarez and Amadi Lagha will alternate the role of Cavaradossi, while Angel Odena will sing the role of Scarpia. Alberto Veronesi conducts.

Performance Dates: July 14, 24 &  August 2,21, 2020

Manu Lalli’s production of “Turandot” comes to life with Daniel Smithdirigerà conducting the Orchestra del Festival Puccini with Amarilli Nizza and Silvana Froli in the title role, Coolen Claire as Liu and Alejandro Roy as Calaf.

Performance Dates: July 18,31 & August 8,16, 2020

Aldo Tarabella directs a new production of Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” with Gianna Fratta conducting. Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi sings the title role with Sheshaberidze Michail as Des Grieux, Luca Bruno as Lescaut, and Bruno De Simone as Geronte di Ravoir.

Performance Dates: July 25  & August 7, 2020

Ettore Scola’s 2014 production of “La Bohème” returns to the stage with Vittoria Yeo, Ivàn Ayòn Rivas, Chabounia Maria, and Kartal Karagedik. Enrico Calesso conducts the production

Performance Dates: August 1, 9, 22, 2020

“Madama Butterfly” returns to the stage in Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera’s production. Karine Babajanyan sings the title role with Stefan Pop,  Annunziata Vestri, and Bruno Taddia rounding out the cast. Yves Abel conducts.
