The Centro Lírico del Sur and the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga are set to present “Dialogues des Carmelites” at the Teatro Villamarta de Jerez starting on June 24, 2022. There will be an additional performance on June 26, 2022. 

The production is set to star Ainhoa ​​Arteta, Ángeles Blancas, Nicola Beller Carbone, Rodrigo Esteves, David Alegret, María Luisa Corbacho, Nuria García-Arrés. Beatriz Lanza, Andrea Ramírez, Luis Pacetti, José Manuel Montero, José Manuel Díaz, Luis López, and Manuel Sanlés. 

​​Arteta, who will take on the role of Blanche de la Force, has enjoyed an international career that has seen her appear at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Bayerische Staatsoper, and La Scala, among others and many more.

The Poulenc work will be presented under the musical direction of José María Moreno with staging by Francisco López.

The Dialogue of the Carmelites recounts the historical events that occurred in Compiègne during the French Revolution, when 16 Carmelite nuns were accused of anti-revolutionary activities and guillotined in Paris.
