Ailyn Perez To Make Opéra De Paris Debut
By Francisco SalazarAilyn Perez is set to make her Opéra de Paris debut on Oct. 23, 2018.
The soprano will sing the title role in Verdi’s “La Traviata,” filling in for an ill Aleksandra Kurzak.
Perez is currently performing “Ernani” at the Teatro alla Scala, which opened last month and is scheduled to return to the Metropolitan Opera in late November for “La Bohème.” She is also scheduled to give performances in Istanbul and Prague and will return to the Houston Grand Opera for her role debut as Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni.”
This is the second performance Kurzak cancels in a row. Anita Hartig previously filled in on Oct. 21. Kurzak is scheduled to return for the final performance on Oct. 26. It’s a big week for the Polish soprano, as her new album “Puccini in Love,” recorded with her husband Roberto Alagna for her Sony Classical debut, will be hitting stores this Friday.
Perez joins Jean-Francois Borras and George Gagnidze in Benoit Jacquot’s production with Giacomo Sagripanti conducting the iconic Verdi score.
