The Metropolitan Opera is set to revive John Dexter’s classic production of Poulenc’s “Dialogues des Carmélites” for five performances.

The production, which is set to run between Jan. 15 and 28, 203, will star soprano Ailyn Pérez in her role debut as Blanche de la Force. She will be joined by French soprano Sabine Devieilhe who makes her highly anticipated Met debut as Sister Constance and Alice Coote in her role debut as Madame de Croissy.

The cast will be rounded out by Christine Goerke as Madame Lidoine, Jamie Barton as Mother Marie, bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as the Marquis de la Force, and tenor Piotr Buszewski in his Met debut as the Chevalier de la Force.

The performances will mark the ninth revival of the acclaimed production by director John Dexter, who staged the opera’s Met premiere in 1977.

For those not at the Met, the Jan. 18 and 28 performances of “Dialogues des Carmélites” will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on SiriusXM Channel 355. The Jan. 28 performance will also be broadcast over the Toll Brothers–Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network.
