
Ailyn Pérez, Michael Fabiano, Nadine Sierra, Lawrence Brownlee, Erin Morley & Brittany Renee Lead Boston Lyric Opera’s 2026-27 Season

The company will present Gioachino Rossini’s “Guillaume Tell” in a production by Vita Tzykun and David Adam Moore. David Angus conducts that includes George Gagnidze, Konu Kim, Anya Matanovič, Nina Yoshida Nelsen, Brianna J. Robinson, Morgan Mastrangelo, and James Demler.

The Boston Lyric Opera will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a Gala recognizing three honorees whose contributions have shaped BLO past and future. Honorees are internationally acclaimed opera artist Deborah Voigt, Michael Bobbitt , former Executive Director of the Massachusetts Cultural Council and now President and CEO of OPERA America, and Linda Cabot Black, a longtime opera and arts education patron in Boston. The evening features performances by tenor Michael Fabiano, with pianist/BLO Head of Music Brett Hodgdon.

André Previn’s “A Streetcar Named Desire” will be performed in a new production by Patricia Racette. Daniela Candillari conducts a cast that includes Brittany Renee, Thomas Glass, Angela Yam, and Brenton Ryan.
Performance Date: Nov. 5-8, 2026
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades” will see the Boston Lyric Opera partner with the Boston Symphony Orchestra for a collaborative semi-staged opera event.
Performance Date: Jan. 29 and 31, 2027
W. A. Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” will be conducted by David Angus and directed by Anne Bogart. The cast will include Michael Sumuel, Madison Leonard, Dean Murphy, Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, and Sun-Ly Pierce.
Performance Dates: March 12–21, 2027
Lawrence Brownlee and Erin Morley perform arias from 19th century French and Italian operas.
Performance Date: April 16, 2027
Co-commissioned by BLO and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the company will present a world premiere community opera by Carlos Simon and Tracy K. Smith. The opera celebrates and tells the stories of Bostonians.
Performance Date: May 8, 2027
Nadine Sierra performs in recital alongside Bryan Wagorn.
Performance Date: June 2, 2027
Osvaldo Golijov’s “Ayre” will be performed in a new production starring Ailyn Pérez. Elkhanah Pulitzer directs.
