Dvořák Requiem

Jakub Hrůša and Jiri Belohlavek lead the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Prague Philharmonic Choir in Dvořák’s Requiem, Biblical Songs, and Te Deum. The album, which is being released by Decca, includes soloists Ailyn Pérez, Christianne Stotijn, Michael Spyres, and Svatopluk Sem.

La Passione

Alpha Classics releases a new album by Barbara Hannigan featuring Haydn’s Symphony No. 49 and music by Nono, and Grisey in solo pieces for soprano. Hannigan conducts the Ludwig Orchestra.

Die Walküre 

Sir Simon Rattle’s conducts the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks with an all-star cast that includes Iréne Theorin as Brünnhilde, Eva-Maria Westbroek as Sieglinde, and Stuart Skelton as Siegmund. Elisabeth Kulman sings Fricka, while James Rutherford is Wotan. Eric Halfvarson stars as Hunding.
