Aida Garifullina has reached one million followers on Instagram becoming the first opera star to reach the milestone.

The soprano took to Instagram to thank her fans and said, “Sunny morning to everyone! My dear friends, there is 1 mln of you already and it’s simply unbelievable!!! I am very grateful for your love, faith and support! Looking forward to many wonderful new projects that are in works. I’ll share them with you very soon!!! Until then I’m giving you all a huge HUG and wish you the most beautiful day!!!”

Garifullina is the first opera singer to reach 1 million followers and has become a big sensation performing at the World Cup and starring in the Oscar nominee “Florence Foster Jenkins,” among many accomplishments.

The soprano recently performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in a production of “La Bohème” and is set to return to the stage this summer for “La Traviata” at the Arena di Verona. She is also set to perform at the Herbstgold Festival and will return to the Metropolitan Opera for “Le Nozze di Figaro.”
