The Amigos de la Ópera de A Coruña has announced its 2023 season.

The season opens with Verdi’s “Aida” with Jose Miguel Perez Sierra conducting. Marigona Qerkezi, Nino Surguladze, Jorge Puerta, Carlos Almaguer, Giacomo Prestia, and Simon Orfila.

Performance Dates: Sept. 14 & 16, 2023

Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” will star Mario Bahg, Sofia Esparza, Borja Quizo, and Luis Lopez. Alain Guingal conducts.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27 & 29, 2023

Monteverdi’s “Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria“ will star Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, Fleur Barron, Emoke Barath, Mayan Goldenfeld, David Hansen, Zachary Wilder, Philippe Talbot, and Christian Immler.

Performance Date: Nov. 27, 2023 

Juan Duran and Gloria Rico’s “Oca” will be presented.

Performance Date: Dec. 13, 2023

Concert 

Aida Garifullina will close the season in a gala performance.
