Against the Grain Theatre has announced that Robin Whiffen will be its first-ever Executive Director.

She will join Founder and Artistic Director Joel Ivany in central leadership positions. Jonathan MacArthur, who was General Manager for three years, has transitioned to a new role as Digital Marketing Director. Miriam Khalil, who was previously Artistic Advisor, will now inhabit the role of Associate Artistic Director.

Whiffen has previously worked with Opera on the Avalon where she was General Manager.

“I am excited to join Against the Grain as Executive Director,” Whiffen stated on Against the Grain Theatre’s official website. “I look forward to working in collaboration with Joel, the AtG Collective and the Board of Directors to continue to push the boundaries of the operatic art form, allowing audiences to see themselves reflected on stage through the power of the human voice.”
