Adriana González, Karine Deshayes & David Bizic Highlight Opéra de Toulon’s 2020-21 Season

The Opéra de Toulon in France has announced its 2020-21 season featuring seven productions.

Karine Deshayes sings the title role of Rossini’s “Semiramide” alongside Teresa Iervolino, Philippe Talbot, and Mirco Palazzi. George Petrou conducts the concert performances.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9 & 11, 2020

Ketevan Kemoklidze sings the title role of Bizet’s “Carmen” with Adriana González, Amadi Lagha, and Andrei Kymach. Jurjen Hempel conducts Henning Brockhaus’s production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13-17, 2020

Jasmine Roy, Harriet Jones, Dalia Constantin, Sabrina Giordano, Maxime de Toledo, Thomas Boutilier, Franck Lopez, Jean-François Martin, Scott Emerson, Sinan Bertrand, and Julien Salvia take on Bernstein’s “Wonderful Town.” Larry Blank conducts Olivier Bénézech’s production.

Performance Dates: Dec. 27-31, 2020

Robert Tuohy conducts Marc Adam’s production of “Si j’étais Roi” by Adam. Armelle Khourdoïan, Eleonora Deveze, Jean-François Marras, Valentin Thill, Jean-Kristof Bouton, Jacques-Greg Belobo, and Mikhael Piccone star in the rarely performed work.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-29, 2021

Ana Maria Labin, Marion Lebègue, Pauline Courtin, Alasdair Kent, and Laurent Alvaro star in Mozart’s “Così Fan Tutte” with Jurjen Hempel conducting.

Performance Dates: March 16-21, 2021

Pierre Dumoussaud conducts Olivier Fredj’s production of Offenbach’s “Le Voyage dans la Lune.” The work will star Nathalie Perrier, Sheva Tehoval, Jennifer Michel, Marie Lenormand, Francis Dudziak, Violette Polchi, Éric Vignau, Thibaut Desplantes, Pierre Derhet, and Pierre-Antoine Chaumien.

Performance Dates: April 23-27, 2021

Jurjen Hempel conducts Renée Auphan’s production of Verdi’s “La Traviata.” Eugenia Dushina, Julien Behr, and David Bizic star.

Performance Dates: May 28-June 1, 2021
