
Adela Zaharia & Xabier Anduaga Lead Teatro Real’s ‘La Traviata’ Broadcast
By Francisco SalazarOn July 19, the Teatro Real de Madrid is set to broadcast its production of “La Traviata.”
The company announced that it will transmit the performance across multiple cities in Spain in co-production with TVE.
The performance will showcase the famed Willy Decker production, which originally premiered in 2005 at the Salzburg festival and was later brought to the Metropolitan Opera. Adela Zaharia will sing the title role alongside Xabier Anduaga as Alfredo and Artur Rucinski as Germont.

“La Traviata” opens on June 24 and will be shown 18 times with Nadine Sierra, Luca Salsi, Iván Ayón Rivas, Juan Diego Flórez, and Gëzim Myshketa, also starring. Francesc Prat also conducts two performances.
