Adam Richardson, Elaine Alvarez, Sidney Outlaw, Vanessa Becerra Headline Opera Omaha’s 2022-23 Season

Omaha Opera has announced its 2022-23 season.

The season will open with a production of “X, the Life and Times of Malcolm X” in a production by Robert O’Hara. The work will star Adam Richardson in the title role, Victor Robertson as Elijah and Street, and Whitney Morrison as Louise / Betty. Gil Rose conducts Anthony Davis’ score.

“Malcolm X is an iconic American figure, and his story is an important one to tell,” says Roger Weitz, General Director of Opera Omaha. “We are proud to partner with Michigan Opera Theatre, The Metropolitan Opera, and Seattle Opera on this premiere, and we are delighted that our audience, here in the birthplace of Malcolm X, will see this landmark production before it travels to New York.”

Performance Dates: Nov. 4 & 6, 2022

Elaine Alvarez will headline “Suor Angelica” in a production by Keturah Stickann. Jill Grove will play the Princess. Judith Yan conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 24 & 26, 2023

 The season draws to a close with “Le Nozze di Figaro” in a production by Dean Anthony. Steven White conducts a cast starring Sidney Outlaw, Vanessa Becerra, Michael Adams, and Mary Feminear.

Performance Dates: March 31 & April 2, 2023
