Accident At The Teatro Regio Di Torino

During a performance of “Turandot” at the Teatro Regio di Torino, part of the staging fell.

According to local media, the accident caused injuries to at least two choristers but according to reports, the injuries were not grave. The accident occurred at the end of the second act and as a result, the performance was suspended.

Rebeka Lokar and Jorge de León were performing the leading roles of the opera in Stefano Poda’s new production which opened on Jan. 16, 2018.

Tonight’s performance is still scheduled to go on with music director Gianandrea Noseda scheduled to conduct. Teresa Romano sings the title role while Diego Torre sings the role of Calaf. The production will be performed until Jan. 25.
