The ensemble barocco Les Paladins conducted by Jérôme Correas will present a program entitled “Handel Heroines.”

The concert, which is part of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana’s program, will be held on May 12 and will feature soprano Chantal Santon.

The program will include Adelaide’s aria “Scherza in mar la navicella” from “Lotario” (1729), Cleopatra ‘s recitative and aria “E pur così in un giorno / Piangerò la sorte mia” from “Giulio Cesare in Egitto” (1723), and Alcina’s “Ah mio cor.” Santon will sing Morgana’s “Tornami a vagheggiar” from “Alcina.”

The orchestra will perform the Overture and Marche from “Ariodante” (1734), the Concerto grosso op. 6 n. 4 HWV 322, and the Trio Sonata for two violins e b.c. op. 5 n. 4 HWV 399.
