Accademia Filarmonica Romana Announces New Artistic Director

Domenico Turi has been named the Artistic Director of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana.

Turi will start his tenure on July 1, 2024 and will succeed Enrico Dindo.

The board of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana led by President Paolo Baratta announced the decision on May 29. The board members include Lucia Bocca Montefoschi, Sandro Cappelletto, Marco Chiarion Casoni, Michele dall’Ongaro, Giampietro Nattino, Andrea Posi, Andrea Pugliese, Mauro Tosti Croce, Matteo D’Amico, and Marcello Panni.

Turi is a composer and pianist with a degree from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia di Roma. He has composed works for Gran Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Fondazione Paolo Grassi di Martina Franca, Camerata Italica, dagli Amici della Musica di Foligno, Festival di Nuova Consonanza, Internationales Halleiner Schlagzeugfestival, and Classiche Forme. His compositions have been heard around the world including Ukraine, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, England, France, and Germany, among other countries.
