
Academy of Vocal Arts Unveils 2022-23 Season
By David SalazarThe Academy of Vocal Arts has announced its 2022-23 season.
“If there’s anything we learned after the return of live performances, is that audiences are hungry for opera,” said Scott Guzielek, Vice President and General Manager, in an official press statement. “We are proud to continue offer high-level operatic performances, all while training operas future stars. It’s an exciting time for AVA!”
The season will kick off with the Giargiari Bel Canto Competition.
Performance Date: Sept. 30, 2022
Next up is the New Artists Recital.
Performance Date: Oct. 6 and 7, 2022
The first production of the year will be “La Traviata.” Christofer Macatsoris will conduct.
Performance Date: Nov. 11-29, 2022
There will then be a fall recital.
Performance Date: Dec. 13 & 15, 2022
Kicking off the New Year will be a production of “Don Pasquale.”
Performance Date: Feb. 16 – 23, 2023
That will be followed up by the annual “Jubilate! A Concert of Sacred Music.”
Performance Date: March 18 & 19, 2023
“Don Giovanni” will be the third and final production of the season.
Performance Date: April 27 – May 9, 2023
The season will draw to a close with the famed “Farewell Recital.”
Performance Date: May 12, 2023
