Academy of Vocal Arts to Spotlight Berlioz With ‘Entre l’amour et la mort’

The Academy of Vocal Arts has added a new recital to its spring programming.

Scheduled for March 8 and 10, “Entre l’amour et la mort” will spotlight the music of Hector Berlioz. Audiences will hear excerpts from such works as “Benvenuto Cellini,” “Lelio,” “Béatrice et Bénédict,” “L’Enfance du Christ,” and “Les Troyens,” among others.

Music Director and pianist Audrey Saint-Gil will lead the performance with singers yet to be announced.

All attendees will be required to wear masks throughout the duration of the performance. They will also be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

In addition to this series of concerts, the institution is also preparing to showcase Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece “Eugene Onegin” starting on Feb. 19, 2022; the opera will run for four performances with the final one set to take place on Feb. 26, 2022.
