Academy of Vocal Arts to Present ‘La Favorite’

The Academy of Vocal Arts is set to present Donizetti, Royer, and Vaëz’s “La Favorite” this February.

This is the first time that the institution is presenting the work, which will appear at the Helen Corning Warden Theater on Feb. 15, 18, 20, and 22.

The production, which will be directed by Gregory Boyle and conducted by Richard A. Raub, will star Anne Marie Stanley and Pascale Spinney as Leonore. Joining them will be Oliver Sewell and Sahel Salam as Fernando; Brent Michael Smith and Eric Delagrange sharing the role of Balthazar; Abraham Bréton as Don Gaspar; Yihan Duan and Renee Richardson as Inez; Timothy Renner and Daniel Gallegos as Alphonse; and Zachary Rioux as A Lord.

The famed opera will be presented in French with English supertitles.
