Academy of Vocal Arts Releases ‘Jubilate! A Concert of Sacred Music’

From March 20- April 3, 2021, Academy of Vocal Arts will present “Jubilate! A Concert of Sacred Music.”

Led by Music Director and Conductor David Anthony Lofton, the concert will feature resident artists, including sopranos Aubry Ballarò, Leolla Grahn, Joanna Latini, Renee Richardson, and Ethel Trujillo; mezzos Alice Chung, Pascale Spinney, and Anne Marie Stanley; tenors Shawn Roth and Sahel Salam; baritones Benjamin Dickerson, Daniel Gallegos, Kevin Godinez, and Titus Muzi; and bass Griffen Hogan Tracy.

The program will include “Kantata #51 Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen” by Bach, as well as his “Magnificat in D Major,” “Ich folge dir gleichfals” from “St. John Passion,” selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” “Belshazzar,” “Semele,” and “Samson,” Schubert’s “Ave Maria,” Virgil Thompson’s “Stabat Mater,” Nadia Boulanger’s “Lux aeterna,” and more.

Supported by the David A. and Helen P. Horn Charitable Trust, the performance is dedicated to the memory of Lucinda S. Landreth.
