Academy of Vocal Arts Cancels & Postpones Winter 2022 Productions

By David Salazar

The Academy of Vocal Arts has announced date changes for its upcoming productions.

The company noted that due to the continued spread of COVID-19, it was forced to postpone its production of “Eugene Onegin” and outright cancel its intended version of “Mignon” altogether.

The Tchaikovsky masterpiece was originally set to open on Jan. 22 and run through Jan. 29. Instead, it will now be presented starting on Feb. 19 through 26 (four performances), dates that were originally scheduled for “Mignon.”

“Eugene Onegin” stars Benjamin Dickerson and Titus Muzi in the title role. As Tatiana, audiences will see Lydia Grindatto and Emily Margevich while the role of Olga will be interpreted by Anne Marie Stanley and Chelsea Laggan. Luke Norvell and Zachary Rioux will share the role of Lensky and Peter Barber and Griffen Hogan Tracy will alternate as Gremin.
