The ABAO Bilbao Opera and the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS) have signed a collaboration agreement that consolidates and updates a historic artistic relationship between the two institutions.

The agreement notes that the ABAO Bilbao Opera designates the BOS as the Principal Orchestra for its opera seasons and is a recognition of the continuous collaboration that both institutions have maintained since ABAO’s first season in 1953.

Within the framework of this agreement, the BOS will participate as ABAO’s orchestra in three opera productions each season, among the titles prepared, coordinated, performed, or produced by ABAO itself.

Furthermore, whenever possible, ABAO will also engage the BOS as its orchestra for concerts it organizes throughout the season. The agreement also includes reciprocal 10 percent discounts on ticket purchases with ABAO members receiving a 10 percent discount on tickets for any of the concerts organized by the BOS. BOS subscribers will also enjoy a 10 percent discount on tickets for performances and activities programmed by ABAO.
