Puccini Opera Festival Announces 2020 Festival

The Puccini Opera Festival has announced its 66th season.

The 2020 festival, which takes place at the Torre del Lago, Italy, will feature five operas including “La Bohème,” “Manon Lescaut,” “Turandot,” “Tosca” and “Madama Butterfly.” The season will also include a ballet performance.

“Tosca” will open the festival with four performances. “Turandot” will also be performed four times, while “La Bohème” will get three performances. “Madama Butterfly” and “Manon Lescaut” will get two performances each.

The festival has not announced casting for productions, but it always attracts some of the most important singers in the industry. This year Angela Gheorghiu, Maria Guleghina, Jose Cura, and Hui He were among the performers that graced the prestigious event.

The festival is set to open July 17 and will run through August 23, 2020.
