ORF III to Broadcast Wiener Staatsoper’s ‘Iolanta’ with Sonya Yoncheva

On April 6, 2025, Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta” will be broadcast live on ORF III from teh Wiener Staatsoper.

The new production, which will also be streamed on the company’s website, is directed by Evgeny Titov.

Sonya Yoncheva stars in the title role after singing it at the Metropolitan Opera and Paris Opera alongside Ivo Stanchev, Boris Pinkhasovich, and Dmytro Popov.

The production will also star Ibn-Hakia, Attila Mokus, Daniel Jenz, Simonas Strazdas, Monika Bohinec, Maria Nazarova, and Daria Sushkova. Tugan Sokhiev will conduct the Wiener Staatsoper orchestra.

The broadcast will be directed by Ella Gallieni while Barbara Rett will moderate the broadcast.
